Mrs. Funnybones

Been asked by a few ppl, if I had read Mrs. Funnybones by Twinkle Khanna.. Finally, a cousin just got fed up n lent it to me.. So v v reluctantly and with complete surety tht m goin to just drop d book after d first few pages, I begin to read it.. Before I go any further, let me just say tht d only reason I ws tht sure ws I normally don't read this genre of books, like at all.. But well all I cn say is I ws soo wrong..

It is a funny, tp, fast read, but still, she's managed to get out everything an average Indian woman faces, with a funny yet positive twist.. Some things she's said in d bk just completely blew my mind, cause firstly, couldn't hv said it better and secondly, couldn't hv ever explained it in such simple terms.. 

So here's a few excerpts from d book, tht hit home..

The word 'love'. A multilayered, convoluted and imperfect as all human emotions. It is not your heart beating fast wen u look at him, or constantly wanting to be with the other person. Love in any relationship, family or an intimate friendship, is only about putting the other person's needs ahead of your own, and that, my friend, is just as simple and complex as u make it.. 

Life is like a kite. Sometimes you have to leave it lose, sometimes you have to hold on tight, sometimes your kite will fly effortlessly, sometimes you will not be able to control it, but even when you are struggling to keep it afloat and the strong is cutting into your fingers, don't let go. The wind will change in your favour once again. Just don't let go.. 

For ppl who think try and try harder till you die - 

The only person you can ever change is yourself; after you have done that and you are the best you that you can be, let go. There is always another job, another woman, another best friend. Each day, that you persist in a situation where you are miserable is a day wasted on the path that would lead you to happiness. (So you are saying take the easy way out?) No, just know the difference between trying and holding on..
