The Alchemist!

Trying to catch up on reading, or actually revisit the old books that I already have. There’s something completely different about having a physical book in hand, the smell of the pages, the feel of the book in the hand....

Started or more like re-started with The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Have read this book 3 times (this one being the third) and I pride myself in remembering stories, not word for word, but the gist of it. This is one book that is a wonder to me! Every time I read it, it’s like am reading a new story, grasping different things from it, understanding things I might or might not have understood earlier.

So this time, Santiago (the protagonist) through his journey, made me realize that the start and end of your story do not at all matter, it’s the inbetweens that make life worthwhile.

Past and future, the sorrow of the past and the fear of the future are only feelings that make us miss out on the present. We need to live in the moment, give our full attention to everything that’s happening now, cause this moment is all we have control over.

A few words or phrases that are omnipresent in the story are:

If you want something with all your heart, the whole world conspires for you to get it.

Maktub- it is written!

The soul of the world being one.

Books like The Alchemist remind you that, possible and impossible are all in our own head. Love will never come in the way of what makes you happy, cause if it does, it wasn’t love. And most of all, follow your heart, your dreams, even with the hurdles, because just stopping and thinking will make you only put up soo many walls, so many ifs and buts, that you’ll never cross that bridge, and finally one day in life if you think you’ll have your chance, that day you might not have the will to cross it anymore.

Follow your dreams, love wholly, and happiness will be waiting there, around the corner. :)

It’s a simple life!

The lockdowns been extended. The world, not one city, or country, the world has come on a standstill. The maximum world we see now, are the people living with us, or the world of nature outside our windows.

It’s a simple life. Agreed there’s a lot of tension and chaos to go around, but just stop and think about it. The regular people, in our houses, cooking and cleaning, spending time with our loved ones, cause this is our whole world for a few months now. There’s no work stress, outer world stress, and people are creating less tensions among themselves cause we have to co - exist in the same place, no where to go like literally!

If we just let it, this is the best time to offload all your worries, cause as of now there’s nothing you can really do about it. Most people have been sleeping better, which as actually one of the most major issues of this generation. Sleep deprivation or insomnia.

People are connecting more, even the ones that are far away from each other, taking the time out to play games, talk, sing even. :). We’re doing all the things that we thought would never be possible because, most of the time we just didn’t have time enough to talk to people, let alone all the other things we do now.

Granted, this is weird time for everyone, tuff, Unthought of, but there are a lot of awesome things that have come out of it, we only just need to look.

Thank god for your parents, siblings, spouses, or anyone that’s there with you right now, because imagine being alone, at this time for so many days, and if you can imagine and think it would’ve been nice, ask the people who are stuck alone, and how much they’ve started valuing the people/company in their lives.

Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life!

It’s that time, the time where none of us imagined in our wildest dreams, would actually come. We’ve all seen dozens of movies / series that have shown the havoc a virus can create, but now we’ve just seen it first hand.

The world is on lock down, we are all confined to our homes, stuck with just yourself and, if you are lucky, then a family around you.

So many of us think “oh my god!! How boring? What do we do?” Really though, why?

In the normal course of time, we are always, almost all of us, complaining about how hectic work is, how we all need to slow down, how we would do soo many things, only if we had the time.!! Well people, there you go! Now you have the time!! So stop, stop thinking of this like a punishment and use it.!

Look around, next to you if you have a family member sitting, actually look at them, talk to them, spend some much needed time with them! Look out your window, see nature flourish, cause we’ve actually finally given it time to heal, to grow, without us imposing!

Hear the birds chirp so clearly, the skies clearer than we’ve seen them in the longest time, the air much better to breathe in.

There’s a lot of negative energy going around, a lot of tension, and the only way to come out of this is to stay positive, healthy and active.

Play games, do some Netflix and chill like you’ve wanted to, follow a hobby(from inside your house), do all the things you didn’t have time for earlier, because, as I read recently somewhere:

“Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life!”

sentiment and suffocation

Sentiment and suffocation.

You love someone you want the world for them, get everything to their feet, is awesome, making that person feel soo special to that extent is a feat in itself.

But that sentiment, turned around to not letting that person do anything on their own, is suffocation. Your cutting your hands and theirs, loving someone also means letting them grow and be ok with that.

Love their growth like it’s your own, not looking at it as your failure. It’s a win.

And may be somewhere you already know that......

Momentary sadness

What are we really doing here? In this world. Are we here to earn some money, respect, love, family, etc?

Most of us have most of that, and still lack that something. We’re all searching, searching for that one thing/person, that makes us happy! Aren’t we?

But is that how we’ll get it? Cause things and people are all temporary in our lives. And then when that anchor for our happiness disappears, suddenly we’re left with these empty eyes and sad hearts. We drive ourselves so mad for that one thing that we never really truly snap out of it. There are moments, of happiness that we tend to find ourselves in occasionally, but the moment passes and that emptiness is back.

There is a moment in every second where we can be happy, we just have to understand that, that happiness isn’t to be found, it’s right inside us, and if we can just keep the heart smiling, knowing everything will be alright and people and things come and go, and we can and should be momentarily sad for it, but not always be gloomy and occasionally smile.!
Like he said only a happy heart can touch the sky!

Best options?

You want something, but the adults in your life, don’t agree.! Let’s keep it close your parents, grandparents, and / or your older sibling don’t agree. It’s happened to all of us, right?

Most of us have mostly still gone Ahead and still done what we had to, no scratch that WANTED to do, but at what expense, and what happened eventually.?

We do things as per what and how we want, with the surety that these same adults will one day fall into the pattern, forgive and forget, and it’ll all be fine! But what happens at that very moment that you do your thing, go against everyone and do it.? The pain and the hurt that the people that probably love us most in the world go through, is it worth it?

Just a thought, if they’re eventually going to agree we are so sure, may be we can get them to agree a little sooner, or wait, cause then we avoid a lot of heartache, knowing it’s not the best option but may be a smarter one.

And for the adults, who really do want only what’s best for us, want to protect us from all the worlds evils, may be we can reciprocate that feeling for a change and save them from ourselves, or our selfishness.

Morning rays!

Got a chance to, actually no, sat at the window today and didn’t end up looking at my phone but our the window.

Forgot how peaceful and beautiful this was. Seeing the suns rays spread across an already lit up sky, some clouds shining more than the others like some other worldly aura around them.

Have to leave, but this is soo beautiful, the spreading of the morning rays!
